The Balance 2 upgrades nearly everything about the original: a 658mAh cell good for 21 days, sapphire over the 1.5-inch AMOLED, 10ATM with dive certification to 45m, and 33 hours of full-accuracy GPS against the first Balance’s 26. It also quietly removes the one feature that made the original stand out — there is no BIA body composition sensor here. HybridCharge folds BioCharge, training load, and life load into a readiness-style energy score, storage jumps to 32GB so maps and music both fit, and Zepp Coach writes training plans with nothing behind a paywall. Now the value pick beneath the Balance 3 and Balance Ultra, as long as you were not buying it for body composition.

Strengths

  • 21-day battery with 33 hours of full-accuracy GPS
  • Sapphire glass and 10ATM with 45m dive certification
  • HybridCharge readiness scoring, no subscription

Tradeoffs

  • The original Balance’s BIA body composition is gone
  • No contactless payment on US units
  • App layer still lags Garmin badly
