The Venu 4 fixes the two things that kept the Venu line a tier below the Forerunners: it adds Training Readiness with the full Training Load suite, and it is the first Venu with multi-band GNSS and SatIQ. The ECG app carries over, joined by a real LED flashlight and a stainless steel case. The genuinely new software is Lifestyle Logging, which tracks caffeine and alcohol against your sleep and HRV — the first time a mainstream watch has tried to close that loop. Twelve days on the 45mm. The remaining omission is maps: at $549 you still get breadcrumbs and courses, not downloadable topo.

Strengths

  • First Venu with Training Readiness and multi-band GNSS
  • ECG app, LED flashlight, and speaker/mic all included
  • Lifestyle Logging ties caffeine and alcohol to sleep and HRV

Tradeoffs

  • No downloadable maps at $549
  • No Endurance Score, unlike the Venu X1
  • Leather-band configurations cost $50 more
